Welcome to St. Frances de Chantal Council

The Knights of Columbus is a national brotherhood of Catholic gentlemen who live out the principles of charity, unity, and fraternity by serving the Church and local community.  The brotherhood is organized into councils around the world.

 

Our St. Frances De Chantal Council 6526 is located in Wantagh, NY.  With a strong commitment to supporting our parish, expanding charitable work, and strengthening unity among members, we are dedicated to serving our community and making a positive impact. ST. FRANCES DE CHANTAL KNIGHTS OF COLUMBUS COUNCIL #6526 RECEIVES TOP AWARDS

The St. Frances de Chantal Knights of Columbus Council #6526 has received the distinction of Star Council, for the third year in a row as well as the Columbian Award for the Columbian Year 2025-26, the international organization’s top awards for local councils.

The Star Council Award recognizes overall excellence in the areas of membership, promotion of fraternal insurance benefits, sponsorship of faith formation programs and service-oriented activities. Under the leadership of our Past Grand Knight, John Tomeo, we have added almost 50 new members in his 3 years as Grand Knight and the Council is growing still.

Council #6526 completed all four required faith formation and service programs: Faith, Family, Community, and Life. Some of the noteworthy activities they sponsored/participated in included, Blood Drives, Veteran Banners, LRC, Radio

Bingo, Razzle Dazzle, Pasta with the Pastor, Christmas Craft Fair, Keep Christ in Christmas Poster Contest, Parish Food and Coat Drives, Free Throw Championship, Food Truck Events, Carnation Sales for Birthright Inc. Nassau-Suffolk and many other meaningful events.

Awo-Doku and his staff, the Columbiettes, Wantagh community and all local businesses for helping us achieve this award in our 53rd year as a Council. Please consider becoming a member in the St. Frances de Chantal Council.  If you’re interested in helping those in need, serving your parish, growing in your faith or having exclusive access to top-rated insurance protection for your family, then the Knights of Columbus is the organization for you.

Membership in the Knights of Columbus is open to men 18 years of age or older who are practical (that is, practicing) Catholics in union with the Holy See. This means that an applicant or member accepts the teaching authority of the Catholic Church on matters of faith and morals, aspires to live in accord with the precepts of the Catholic Church, and is in good standing in the Catholic Church.
